| The Salt Lake media is desperately trying to stir up bad blood between BYU and Utah players, and here's your evidence: John Beck DID NOT guarentee a victory over the Utes during the Las Vegas Bowl invitational ceremony on Saturday. This is what happened: Greg Wrubell asked the crowd still at LES to, on the count of three, say "Viva Las Vegas!" John grabbed the mike from him and said, "We haven't looked ahead all season, so we still have to play that team up North. On the count of three, let's say, "Beat Utah!" When the Salt Lake papers wrote their stories, the quote became "We're going to beat that team up North!" If anyone heard anything different, let me know. | ||

John Beck said, "Our motto's been to not look ahead all year We cannot look past the north We're gonna go and beat those guys up north Beat Utah!" There must be some media members desperate for a story to turn those comments, given in midst of celebrating, into a guarantee. | |||
